Posted on 01. Sep, 2010 by IBM.
We’ll admit, we’d kinda figured that HTC’s venture into the seedy underworld of dumbphones with the introduction of the Smart earlier this year was a non-starter and that it’d quietly fade into the night before 2010 was out, but apparently not — at l…

Posted on 01. Sep, 2010 by IBM.
It’s been known for some time that Twitter would be moving away from basic authentication to OAuth for third-party apps; in fact, they’d already officially pushed back the drop-dead switchover date once to mid-August before finally pulling the plug th…

HTC Droid Incredible update to Froyo rolling out far and wide, manual install available
Posted on 31. Aug, 2010 by IBM.
Yeah, the Droid Incredible update was technically already deployed, but you know how these things work: they’re usually long, painful phased rollouts designed to limit the damage if something catastrophic happens in the over-the-air push. On that note…

HTC Desire (US Cellular) review
Posted on 31. Aug, 2010 by IBM.
HTC’s Desire is undoubtedly one of the headline Android devices of 2010 so far — and heck, when you’re using the already-great Nexus One as a starting point and re-upping it with an optical pad, physical buttons, and Sense, it’s hard to argue otherwi…

T-Mobile G2 build flashes to other devices to great results, new widgets
Posted on 29. Aug, 2010 by IBM.
Remember that T-Mobile G2 build that leaked out earlier this week? Even if you didn’t, the ROM still managed to find its way onto other Android devices by way of some clever (if not elementary, dear Watson) hacking, and from that very binary comes som…

Hey — what’s this? Well, from the looks of it, it’s a new, as-yet-unnamed HTC device. There is perilously little info available about the mystery mobile, but it appears to boast an 8 megapixel camera with a flash plus a front-facing camera, a 4.3-inc…

Just as we thought, HTC’s Droid Incredible for Verizon is getting boosted from Android 2.1 to 2.2 today, which should make plenty of owners (and plenty of non-owners who’ve been unable to find any stock for the past couple months) happy as a clam. Maj…

Exclusive: HTC’s Windows Phone 7-equipped T8788 breaks cover for AT&T
Posted on 24. Aug, 2010 by IBM.
In case you needed any more evidence that AT&T is going all-in with Windows Phone 7, take a gander at this little beast, a phone known only as the HTC T8788 at this point (rest assured, you’ll get a snappy, memorable, trademarkable name by the time it’s on shelves). Though it’s a landscape slider, it doesn’t slide to reveal what you’d normally expect — a keyboard, that is. Instead, you get a speaker, an unusual (though not unprecedented) concept that should make this a decent media device… and the kickstand around back should help with that, too. We’d argue that this is the prettiest WinPho 7-powered device we’ve seen so far — not surprising, considering HTC’s reputation — though we’re sure plenty of folks would prefer the QWERTY. Check another shot in the gallery below!
